Swavalamban Connect Kendras (SCKs)

Under the Mission Swavalamban, an umbrella program of SIDBI for aspiring individuals, livelihood, micro and small entrepreneurs, spread entrepreneurship culture and inspire youth to be “Job creators”, an idea of SWAVALAMBAN CONNECT KENDRAs (SCKs) was conceptualized to accelerate the promotion and formalization of micro-enterprises in the country, an initiative aimed at “hand holding” providing end to end solutions from creating awareness to enterprise grounding. The SCKs envisaged as a counselling centre and will be guiding aspiring entrepreneurs to become job creators through awareness, mapping gaps, skill connect, credit connect, handholding support and linking with market. 

Swavalamban Connect Kendra were launched initially in 2019 as pilot intervention in 100 districts covering 5 states.

With reasonable success of pilot intervention, subsequently with some modifications, the programme was launched in 100 more districts of 5 states. 

It is intended to further deepen the initiative for promotion of entrepreneurship culture, creating new micro-enterprises, formalization of enterprises and strengthening ecosystem of enterprise promotion through Swavalamban Connect Kendras in 500+ districts in the country in phase-wise manner and position SCKs as a one-stop centre for entrepreneurship creation, credit linkages and value-added services.

Footprints

  • 100 Swavalamban Connect Kendras are operational as on date
  • 6200 micro enterprises enabled (4221 new enterprises and 1979 scaled up with first ever formal credit linkage)
  • Loans aggregating ₹51.67 crore to around 5062 enterprises
  • Ratio of Male (1461) and Female (4739) beneficiaries was 24% and 76%
